Seit ihrer Gründung hat sich in der The Balvenie-Destillerie nur wenig verändert. Die Single Malts werden bis heute auf traditionelle Art und Weise hergestellt, was diesen Whiskys ihren einzigartigen Geschmack verleiht. The Balvenie ist die einzige Brennerei, die noch immer ihre eigene Gerste anbaut, die traditionelle Tennenmälzerei anwendet und eine Kupferschmiede wie auch Küfer vor Ort hält – deshalb zählt The Balvenie noch heute zu den Malts mit dem höchsten Anteil an Handwerkskunst.
